“Meet The Neighbor”…
"Meet the Neighbor"...
one of Ashley Forest's "first families."
The Spears Family of 175 Ashley Forest Drive

We were the third family to move in this subdivision in 1996. Since all the children were married we decided we needed a biggerhome. We wanted the grandchildren to have a fun and safe place to come visit. As a house warming gift, the kids gave us a swing set to put in the back yard. They even cleared the trees, cleaned a big area and named it Nonnies Park. As the grandchildren grew older and had no interest in the park, it was transformed in to a quiet peaceful sitting area and a great nesting place for the birds. Now it belongs to Barney, our Shih Tzu spoiled dog and Kitty, our adopted lovable cat.

Our children still live closeby. Jimmy, Lara and Kellan live in Ball Ground. Steve, Melody, Steven, Marcus and Bella live in Woodstock. Kathy and Jerry live in Fayetteville.

Jim worked for Heidelberg USA which manufactures printing presses as their lead demonstrator. After 28 years of traveling, he decided it was time to retire and enjoy being home. Jim retired three years ago and now enjoys a part time job at the Home Depot in Peachtree City. He loves the outdoors and works in the yard all the time. He and Barney are great pals in the yard. Jim does his thing and Barney lays in the grass and pretends to be the supervisor. Kitty wanders in and out keeping the critters in check.

I was an AVP for Wachovia Bank in the International Dept. handling Letters of Credit. When the department moved to Winston Salem NC, I joined UPS Supply Chain Solutions managing their Letters of Credit until

I retired two years ago. I volunteer at Oak Grove Elementary working in the Media Center. When I was in school, it was called the Library. Can you guess how old we are???  As a matter of fact we are going to

Jims 50 year reunion from Brown High School in Atlanta the first of October and my 50 year reunion from Northwood High School in Silver Spring, MD the end of October.

I am blessed as my twin sister lives across the street from us. We often wondered how she and Andy convinced us to build a home in this subdivision. Eight years ago Andy suddenly passed away.

We are firm believers that God works in mysterious ways”. Twins have a special bond and ours runs deep.

We love our home and the beauty of our back yard; the trees, the birds, the little critters running through the yard and even the deer that come to visit in the evenings and during the night.

It is so peaceful sitting on the porch or under the deck in the evenings. To us, this is the best vacation we could ever wish for.
